Allocated seating depends on an accurate venue plan and a reliable way to reserve seats during checkout. Two customers viewing the same seat should not both receive a confirmed booking for it.
The system needs temporary holds with expiry times, seat categories and rules for blocked or accessible spaces. Payment completion must be checked against the reservation's current status. Staff also need a controlled process for moving a booking without losing its history.
Start with one seating layout and test simultaneous purchases, an expired hold and a failed payment followed by a retry. A visual seat map should have an accessible alternative. Venue staff should approve the layout and capacity before sales open, because a technically valid seat number is not enough if it does not match the real room.
