Customers planning a Christmas visit need to know when you are actually open. A normal weekly timetable can be misleading when the business closes early, takes extra days off or runs different hours between Christmas and New Year.
Check every place customers look
Review your website’s contact page, footer and booking information alongside your Google Business Profile. Check other directories and social profiles you actively use. A festive announcement on one channel does not necessarily change the hours shown elsewhere.
Write down the dates first. Include early closing, the final appointment or collection slot and the date normal hours resume. Use clear dates rather than phrases such as closed over the holidays, which leave customers guessing.
Separate opening from service availability
The premises may be closed while online orders or enquiries remain available. Explain what customers can do and when somebody will respond. If deliveries, collections and appointments have different arrangements, give each its own clear wording.
Ask a colleague to check the information from a phone. Important opening details should be easy to find without scrolling through old news articles or opening a large image.
Keep one agreed set of dates
Nominate somebody to maintain the timetable and check it again if plans change. Remove or update seasonal notices after the holiday period so last year’s information does not confuse visitors.
