Could a digital learning passport help people record skills gained across different courses?

A learning passport could bring course records, practical evidence and achievements into a portable profile. It should distinguish a user's own statement from an achievement confirmed by an authorised provider.

Each record needs a source, date and clear description. Users should control which parts they share and with whom. Providers may need a way to correct or revoke a record without silently altering the learner's private notes.

Pilot with a small group of training providers and agree a common skills vocabulary. Test duplicate achievements and a provider ceasing to participate. The passport can make evidence easier to organise, while avoiding the suggestion that collecting badges automatically creates a recognised qualification or proves competence in every setting.
