Grassroots teams can lose time chasing messages before every match. An availability screen could give players a clear choice of available, unavailable or unsure, linked to the relevant fixture and response deadline.
Availability should not automatically mean selection. Coaches need a private provisional squad, while players should receive a clear confirmation when selection is final. Training attendance, injuries and comments require appropriate access, particularly where junior teams are involved.
The first version could focus on responses and targeted reminders to people who have not replied. Test late withdrawals, players attached to several teams and a fixture moving to another day. Keeping those exceptions manageable is more useful than adding a complicated public league table to an internal team tool.
