A rehabilitation app could present a programme approved for the individual by an appropriate clinician. Its job would be to communicate the prescribed plan and record agreed activity, rather than generate unreviewed exercises.
Programmes need version control, review dates and a clear approving professional. Users should see the current instructions and an appropriate route for questions. Reporting pain or difficulty must follow an agreed process, without promising that a message is continuously monitored.
Pilot with a defined clinical team and their approved workflow. Test a programme paused, an exercise changed and a user viewing an older downloaded version. Clinical governance, intended use and relevant regulatory requirements need specialist review before deployment; the app itself should not independently decide when a person is ready to progress.
